How It Works:
The ASC is positioned downstream of the SCR catalyst in the vehicle's exhaust system. After the SCR catalyst reduces NOₓ emissions using AdBlue (urea), any excess ammonia (NH₃) is converted into nitrogen (N₂) and water (H₂O) as it passes through the ASC.
